Independent Asset Audit

Do you have the staff resources to carry out an asset audit?  This is where we at Bomac can help.  We make available an experienced Project Manager and a team of  asset auditors.  Following initial discussions we will be able to provide you with a full proposal which includes how we plan to carry out the audit and a estimation as to how long the project will take.  As part of the audit we can include an IT audit for networks and /or stand alone computer systems.

The current state of an existing register, together with your requirements as to the type and amount of data to be collected will define how the audit is carried out.  Generally the process falls within the following four categories.

Your assets are fully or partly barcoded and data collection terminals are in place.

We can provide the experienced manpower to carry out the audit using your data collection terminals. Assets not barcoded can be recorded manually or via the data collection terminals providing they have the ability to record additional assets.

Your assets are fully or partly barcoded but no data collection terminals are in place.

We can supply experienced auditors with data collection devices. The information collected is provided to you in ASCII and/or Excel spreadsheet format for comparison and/or uploading to your asset register. Other formats are available e.g. Microsoft Access tables.

Your assets are barcoded but are not held on the asset register.

Using our experienced auditors with data collection devices the collected results are provided to the customer in ASCII and/or Excel spreadsheet form.

Your assets are not barcoded and there is a paper form of asset or no register in any form.

Bomac Solutions will undertake an initial audit which could include labelling of assets we audit. Where possible, we would use data collection devices and standard barcoded phrases for department/location, Asset type, brief description and manufacturer. Variable data such as serial numbers, PAT testing dates (where applicable) will be entered using the keyboard of the data collection terminal. For businesses in this category an Asset Audit could be the first step in creating an electronic fixed asset register.
